Split a PDF into separate files
Split PDF on ilovspdfs cuts one PDF into several separate documents by page range, or saves every page as its own file. It runs entirely in your browser, so the document is never uploaded, and several results come back together in a ZIP.

Questions
- Do my files get uploaded to a server?
- No. This tool runs entirely inside your browser tab. Your file is read into memory, changed on your own machine, and handed straight back to you as a download. Nothing is transmitted, so there is nothing on our side to store or delete.
- How do I write the page ranges?
- Comma-separated, using a dash for spans — 1-3, 7, 10-12 produces three documents. Page numbers start at 1 and match what your PDF reader shows.
- What if I get several files back?
- They are bundled into a single ZIP so you only download once. Each file inside is named after the range it came from.
- Does it work without an internet connection?
- Once the page has loaded, yes. The processing code runs locally, so you can disconnect and the tool will still work. That is also a simple way to verify the privacy claim for yourself.
